24/7/365 Mentoring: Meeting Our Students Where They’re At

Part of the Solution Day of Service

Elevate students and staff were honored to participate in a day of service at Part of the Solution (POTS) in the Bronx. POTS is a “one-stop shop”, assisting individuals living in poverty on their journeys through POTS’ three programmatic pillars: dignity and wellness, food security, and long-term stability. Volunteers bagged produce and canned goods for POTS good pantry to prepare for the following day. They also supported the day’s efforts by organizing items, moving boxes, and taking out the garbage in preparation for the following day’s activities.

Mentoring Meals

Executive Director, Gilda Gomez, hosted a lunch for students attending the Harvard LEAD Conference. It was a great opportunity to deepen the bond the students have with each other and the Elevate team.

Teacher Mentors held Mentoring Meals at Shake Shack during mid-winter break. The importance of building with students during out of school time is crucial to building strong bonds. Mentoring Meals also allow Teacher Mentors to check in with students during academic breaks when they aren’t seeing each other daily.
