Preparing our Students for Life After High School

In October, we were invited to Studio Sessions: Invest Like a Pro with Project Come Up and Investopedia. The event guided our young leaders into the world of finance and shared valuable insights into personal finance and financial freedom. Our students watched presentations from industry experts and took part in a stock simulator. Exposing our students to career development experiences expands their understanding of post-secondary opportunities.

For the second year, JobCorps joined us in the classroom! JobCorps is the largest nationwide career training program. The program helps eligible young people, ages 16 to 24, complete their high school education, train for a meaningful career, and obtain employment. JobCorps presented our student with information on industry recognized certifications in 82 high-demand industries. By partnering with organizations like JobCorps, we are offering our students multiple post-secondary pathways and allowing them to define what success means to them.

CareerSpring hosted a lunch and learn on campus for our students. CareerSpring provides first generation students with resources to explore career options, develop well-informed aspirations, and learn fundamental tips for the transition from high school to college and from college to career.

On November 12, students attended FinFest at Kean University in Union, New Jersey. This all-day event focused on topics pertaining to financial freedom, money management, and building personal wealth. Students participated in main-stage panel discussions and breakout sessions where they collaborated with peers to share opinions and insights.
